Make this Takashi Murakami-inspired skull art project easier with this printable drawing reference set. Designed to pair with my Rainbow Parrot Art Murakami skull tutorial, these templates give students clear examples to look at while they create their own skull compositions.

This download includes 3 printable pages:

• 2 different styles of skull drawing references, giving students several skull shapes, sizes, and arrangements to work from

• 1 flower drawing reference page, so students can add flowers inside the skull eye sockets, just like Murakami often does in his skull imagery

I find that students are much more successful with their drawings when they can keep a printed copy of the reference templates at their desks and look at them while they work. These pages help students get the skull shapes, proportions, and overall composition onto their paper while still leaving plenty of room for individual creativity.

I use this project with my 1st through 5th grade students, and it also works well for middle school, high school, and adults.
